If thats not THE ugliest bike I've ever seen, it's f*kn close!!
Also disappointing the lack of gap between rear tyre and seat tube.. what if you want to do a touring ride and whack some 28's on it??

And.....although ...going back to the BMC ......I think I prefer the simplicity of approach that Cervelo have with the S5 ...but hate their graphics

Re: Drool Page
BTW, on my short list for a new roadie is a Trek Domane. The more I read about it, the more its innovations make sense.
Plus, I am the same height as Fabian, who weighs 80-82kg
As much as I think Treks' paint jobs and decals have that KMart vibe, there's no question their R&D is unsurpassed.
So, my new bike is firming up to a Domane, with Di2 Ultegra.
The Domane 5.9 is retailing for $5099 and has :
- Frame 500 series OCLV carbon (one down from their premium carbon)
- BB90 bottom bracket, widest and stiffest on the market
- amongst the stiffest and thickest downtubes
- 23mm wide Bontrager Racelight wheels 1518grams
If Spartacus wins Paris Roubaix tonight, that'll sell me.
Unfortunately that leaves nothing to spend on a MTB. May be I'll buy Martin's for a heavy discount, seeing the novelty has worn off quick for him (he piked on this morning's ride. Strava says so)

And what if Taylor Phinney or Hushovd win, will you buy a BMC GranFondo GF01?BruceG wrote:BTW, on my short list for a new roadie is a Trek Domane. The more I read about it, the more its innovations make sense.

Ha ha. I did not pike but my Garmin did. It obviously is a roadie Garmin. My bike is for sale but at more than RRP as it has lot more cred after to today.BruceG wrote: May be I'll buy Martin's for a heavy discount, seeing the novelty has worn off quick for him (he piked on this morning's ride. nope....cos presumably they don't have herniated lumbar disc pain like me, that the Domane's softer rear end will benefit.

Lots of cred in pushing it up the steeper bits Martin
leave your HRM at home next time huh
actually, that's the reason I want to get the weight off before buying an MTB. those nasty HR spikes are prone to creating an urgent need for a pacemaker for the rest of your life, esp if the arteries are lined with extra fat and calcium.

A better gear choice will resolve that problem along with knowing how long the incline is.BruceG wrote:

Tough ride as no time for a warmup before you have to work hard.
And it was bit not bits

In my wildest dreams, I cannot imagine your wife doing that Martin.....at least not for you....Kevin Rudd, definitely, Wayne Swan, yes, Kim Flesser, maybe.

Hi Bruce. This is Louen, Martin's wife. He has some muffins I baked today and some tasty cheese and crackers. And I would not bake for K Rudd, only for Swany as he is such a hard worker. when are you coming over for dinner?
