HPRW Time Trial Championships 28 July 2012

Seeing as this race is on in two months time, I thought I would post this up to give people some motivation to train through the colder months of the year.

Also, I found this interesting photo on the web of the gains that can be expected from TT specific gear:



As far as I'm aware, these gains are to be had for a pro-level rider on a 40-50km course averaging above 45kph, so for mere mortals like us the gains would be less, but I'm sure they would scale if you were to average above 35kph or so.

Did up this quick table to break it down a bit better:

Skinsuit	134	27%
TT bars	122	25%
Helmet	67	13%
Wind tunnel positioning	56	11%
Front wheel	42	8%
Shoe covers	30	6%
Disc wheel	29	6%
Aero frame	17	3%

Funny how the most expensive piece of gear (Aero frame) gives the lowest gains, but something relatively cheap like a skinsuit gives the greatest gains. I don't know what they've compared it against however, like 134 seconds for a skinsuit could be over something like a flapping T-shirt
