21/7/12 Frank Papp Memorial Handicap Race 96 and 48km
HPRW race organizer Adam Harrison is desperate for volunteers for this Somerset Dam race, starts 12.00pm apparently, and not the scheduled 12.30pm.
As of tonight, only 1/8 can make it apparently.
I was going to race, but will volunteer. If anyone else wants to, let me know and we could possibly car pool.
It's been a few years since I drove that way, but presume going over Mt Glorious is the quickest way from mid ring Northern burbs, and the road is open. Start looks about 20km from Mt Glorious.

yep, that was my intent too Peter, until I realized there's no race unless there's enough volunteers

I think the one of Graeme is a cack.....says it all!!!
I was in the lead car, and it was a brilliant effort by Terry (foul mouthed nice guy) Tradie, Ian Murdoch, and Scott Smith.
The threesome held the lead for the first half, then Scott came off the back shortly after, Ian a few km's later, then Terry led til 5-6km from the end, and stayed with the group to finish top 10.

I too fell off the back of my peleton of 1 after the first hill on the way back....hung on to Ron Youngs wheel for about 100 metres until we hit a hill and two Div 2 burglars apparently passed me ....didn't even see them..... 44 mins out 1hr 44 total ....says it all really....must do more training.....
