Tenterfield ride
As a couple of you may know, 5 of us are doing a ride leaving tomorrow morning from Rathdowney and heading over to Tenterfield. The first day is about 180kms with quite a bit of dirt road section (and hills). After staying at one of the local pubs we'll head back early Wednesday (depending on the amount of beer consumed on Tuesday night), as the second day has approx 220kms, also with a few bumps, over 6000mts in total probably.
Anyway, I hope this link works to a shared page on my Spot satellite tracker so you can track our progress. As it's an unsupported ride, I thought it might be wise to get this 'handy' piece of equipment going again. We don't start until 7 tomorrow morning and hope to be there before sunset. Wednesdays ride back will be more 'interesting' as it heads into some pretty isolated roads.
See you on Thursday

Re: Tenterfield ride
just tried it now Phil, and it appears to be working.
good luck with the ride. you know all the right stuff to do so no point repeating it.
So I'll just say enjoy the journey, as well as the destination

Brilliant technology to be able to track you like this Phil.
Looks like you just got onto some dirt along Mt Lindesay Rd.
Will be interesting to see your altitude data for both days.

Re: Tenterfield ride
Just got an SMS from Phil. 186km, 2953 metres. got to tenterfield at sunset.
had a chat to him this arvo, and one of the guys was riding Zipp 404s!!! and hurting.. hadn't done distance/climbs like that before.
those carbon wheels must have been tough on the unpathed corrugated descents.
