Hey Grant,

These are great looking bikes. Love the wheels. Love the colours. Love the belt drive - I wonder how many internal gears you can get?

PD.

Want a new bike? Empty internal hubs

Post  MarkMc Wed Mar 26, 2014 3:41 am

A bloke I work with rides a belt drive Avanti with an internal 11 speed hub. Recommended servicing is to hose it off once a month!!

http://www.avantibikes.com/au/bikes/on-road/metro/inc-3/ (And it's lighter then my Cube CX ..... Grrrrr!)

Want a new bike? Empty internal hubs

Yes Mark,

Really interesting. I would like to compare internal gears with normal derailleur-types. And carbon chains, wouldn't they be lighter? You would expect less wear as there is no chain movement up/down the cassette and no cross chaining. Seems to be lots of up-sides. I wonder what the down-sides are?

PD.

Hey RS,

Really interesting post. I think if I had the money I would buy an Avanti. Some bike.
