Weekend rides Feb 16 - 17

Hi Group,

I will be away holidaying in the West from Sunday for 2 weeks, in the interim, expect further ride notifications from Michael.

FRIDAY

0630am - recovery ride to Nudgee Beach (28km)

SATURDAY

0645am - racing at Nundah

SUNDAY

0600am - ride 1 - usual Scarborough ride (60km)
- ride 2 - Mt Nebo ride (unsure of distance)

Seeing that a couple of guys are proud new owners of 29'ers, it only seems fitting to hit the trail up South Boundary Rd to Nebo. (Assuming that they want to go along of course) Checked on MTBdirt and the track is now all clear apparently.
I'm suggesting this Saturday after racing, lets say heading off from Highwood Rd, (off Gap Ck Rd) at 11.30am.

That way, we can allow 4 hrs for the return trip (including coffee/beer) and be back at a reasonable hour.
Scotty and Martin, I know it all seems new but this ride is definately NOT technical at all and knowing your fitness levels, it is well within your capabilities. I hope you can both make it.
I'm sure I don't need to remind any takers, but bring adequate spares, cash, water, phone etc.

The parking/departure point is a small dirt area about 200 mts along Highwood Rd. Turn right onto Highwood Rd at the roundabout at the highest point on Gap Creek Rd.

Sorry Scotty, doing Campbells Pocket/Mee on Sunday and already have a couple of others locked in for tomorrow (weather permitting of course)

Anyway, 11.30 at HW Rd IF you can make it.

Looks like C2's training has been rescheduled and we will be racing on Saturday.

Proposed Mt Nebo ride for Sunday
Cannon - Kedron Brook bike path - cross Samford Rd - Settlement Road - Waterworks Rd - Mt Nebo Road to Mt Nebo School (water) - optional coffee at the top if Cafe open and return.

Outward bound metrics are: 44km Elevation: + 1170m
