Weekend rides Jun 16 - 17
Hello group,
Firstly, a little birdy has informed my that Phil Milham will be heading OS tomorrow for 4 weeks to cycle parts of the Tour de France. I wish him a safe and enjoyable trip.
I'm sure others will be green with envy at the prospect! Michael has informed me that he is working on Sunday and will not be riding.
Here are the planned rides.

SUNDAY START TIMES
Considering it's now winter with a 'civilian twilight start' around 6.15am, and CTS not destined to be later than 6.30am this winter, it's probably a good idea to shift Sunday ride start times to 6.30am. That way we don't absolutely need headlights.
Nevertheless, see you all around 6am at the gun. (and it is a gun, as per the memorial plaque)
PHIL M
And PhilM is away for 6 weeks. Should be a great trip for both Lyndell and Phil. Lyndell is doing the Berlin Ironman Triathlon, for the second time. Phil and Lyndell are doing a range of Europe's biggest Cols. I for one want to say now how much I respect Phil. In my view he is not only the safest and most logistically competent rider I know, but the most complete. Anyone who rides with Phil regularly will know he is equally outstanding in endurance, ultra endurance, sprints, climbing, and descents. In addition to this, he doesn't sit at a desk at work! I wish Phil and Lyndell all the best for a safe and enjoyable European tour. Finally, the more I get to know Phil, the more I realize what a genuinely nice, uncomplicated, and non judgemental guy he is. (Phil, if you read this, I've had a couple of beers after an envigorating HPRW handicap Elimbah road race this arvo.)
TdF 2013
If anyone is interested, next year's TdF is the 100th. It will be quite an occasion. A mate has asked if I or any other Brisbane cyclists I know want to go on an organized tour via bikestyletours.com. He is already booked.
I'll be passing on that, as I'll be in Europe next year in June and July, doing some work, and organizing my own rides locally.
If anyone is interested in an Ascot Catering rendezvous at the 100th TdF, let's talk about it when next at C Word.

Yes you know Bruce you are spot on about Phil. He really is the most complete rider. I don't know any rider that I would prefer to descend behind than Phil. He unfailingly picks the right line - every time. If descending is not your thing, get on Phil's wheel. He is as you say the most fairdinkum bloke all round that I know. He's a genuine confident rider across all disciplines.
6.30am starts
I am all for 6.30am starts in winter. Let's have a vote!
Paul.
